The Yankee Ridge Parking area is located along the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 34.4 in the state of Virginia. Back in the 1900s, much of the land along the Blue Ridge Parkway was being logged. The railroad companies built narrow gauge railroads to remove the logs from the mountains. A short section of the once 50 mile long railroad has been reconstructed here along the same path. Wigwam Falls is also located here. A short walk through the woods takes you to a nice cascade waterfall that flows only during wet weather months. See the listing for Wigwam Falls under the link for Waterfalls for more information.
